Call for Abstracts

Theme: Adolescent Mental Health and Positive Development

Date: October 30th - November 1st, 2026

Venue: Shandong Normal University (Qianfoshan Campus), Jinan, Shandong, China

The International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (2024–2033; IDSSD) was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly, with UNESCO designated to lead its implementation. The IDSSD aims to build trust in science, promote critical and informed thinking, and ensure equitable global access to scientific advancements and solutions.

Shandong Normal University is pleased to announce that the activity, Forum of Adolescent Mental Health and Positive Development, has been endorsed by the IDSSD (For more info, please check: https://tinyurl.com/FAMHPD ). The forum will take place in the vibrant city of Jinan, China, and will focus on the theme Adolescent Mental Health and Positive Development. Recognizing the importance of adolescent well-being for sustainable and inclusive development, the forum aims to bring together scholars, researchers, and practitioners to exchange innovative ideas and research findings.

We warmly invite scholars, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to submit abstracts and participate in this academic forum. Together, we seek to advance scientific understanding and innovative practices that promote adolescent well-being and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Event Overview

Adolescence represents a pivotal window for human development, marked by rapid neurobiological, cognitive, and socio-emotional transformations. This forum aims to advance both theoretical understanding and methodological innovation in adolescent mental health and positive development by fostering scientific inquiry, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from scientific progress, and promoting the use of scientific knowledge to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The forum will feature keynote lectures from internationally renowned experts, oral and poster presentations, interactive panel discussions, and workshops.

Who Should Submit

We invite all scholars and researchers working in psychology, education, mental health, and related fields to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Priority will be given to applicants from currently underrepresented regions.

Submission Guidelines

l Abstracts must be written in English and should not exceed 250 words.

l Submissions should clearly state the research questions, methods, major findings, and implications for adolescent mental health or positive development.

l Applications should indicate their preference for oral or poster presentation or both.

l Please include full legal name, institutional affiliation, and contact email of the applicant.

l An applicant may submit only one abstract as presenting author, but may be listed as a non-presenting co-author on additional submissions.

How to Submit

Please send your abstract (as a Word document, name the file with your name plus the title of the abstract) and a brief CV (max 2 pages) to the Forum Committee at famhpd2026jinan@outlook.com . If the applicant has a Chinese name, please specify it in both the abstract document and the CV.

Abstract Submission Deadline: Sep 15th, 2026

Notification of Acceptance: Sep 30th, 2026

l Travel and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of participants.
